Buffalo Buffalo

With the Buffalo Sabres beginning their quest for Lord Stanley’s Cup tonight, I got to thinking about the many ways that buffaloes have influenced my daily life.

Perhaps nothing has shaped my world view more than the following, amazing sentence: Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo. This sentiment rings true not just in Buffalo, and its vernacular veracity cannot be disproved. Don’t believe it’s legit? Simply consult the supreme, digital, linguistics tome: Wikipedia.

Sports Fans: How Happy Are You With Your Team?

ESPN.com recently posted a fascinating ranking of all major American sports franchises related to fan satisfaction. Using an interesting methodology that emphasized affordability, wins, team talent, and administrative competence, ESPN ranked the dynamic and high-octane Buffalo Sabres at number one.

Sadly, but unsurprisingly, my hometown Chicago Blackhawks continue to be regarded as one of the worst franchises in the sports world.
